Susan Roseman

The Susan Roseman Collection is exclusively made by Eric & Christopher in Bucks County, PA. The Collection was launched in January 2021, and includes five of Roseman’s designs that we transformed into beautifully screen printed products.

Susan Roseman is a Philadelphia-based linocut and collage artist who knew from a very early age that she was destined to belong in the art world. In 2012 she established her brand, Artie Art, and has since been featured in Droolzine Magazine and is part of an art program called West Elm LOCAL. Susan’s art stems from inspiration from her late therapy dog, Artie, who made regular retirement home visits to spread cheer to seniors who valued his friendship. Witnessing the joy Artie brought to his community, Susan decided to develop portraits in his honor. This led her to feature a number of canine characters, all of which are based on her real “pack” of dogs.

Artie Art has a unique appearance that Susan describes as “…dog related with graphic style. After all, I am a printmaker with many dogs and a sense of humor.” As of recently, Susan has began branching out to using other media formats such as animation. When asked about her favorite part of her process as an artist and business owner, she wrote: “I love evolving and taking the creative license further. For instance, I am now loving the animation I do for social media. This new medium allows me to bring my dogs to a larger palette.”

How did this collaboration come to fruition?

In addition to this new form of art, Susan has partnered with Eric & Christopher to further distribute her work and offer a variety of new products to her growing audience. Chris and Susan had become familiar with each other’s work through being artists in the same area. Susan explained, “I knew Chris from the local art scene. I knew of his work and that he silkscreened. I was always smitten with the project that he opened up to the local artists for making. I never did it, but always wanted to.” Chris was aware of Susan’s strong interest in the opportunity to offer her designs through screen printing. In December 2020, when the timing worked for both artists, Chris and Susan began collaborating and soon developed an exciting line of products. As of 2021, her designs are featured on Eric & Christopher tea towels, tote bags, and all-new wine totes! Be sure to check out the favorite Artie Art’s “Eat Play Love” design – Susan said “ ‘Eat Play Love’ is the first image that rocked my dogs and narrated their scene. The animated dog characters grew to occupy my creative output.”

We hope you enjoy this new collection!

Cheers,

E & C
